Torrevieja City Council launches its electronic road signage plan.

Torrevieja City Council has begun implementing an ambitious electronic road signage plan with the aim of improving urban traffic safety and optimizing mobility management in the municipality.

The project, which includes the installation of LED information panels, educational radars, and dynamic signage, is especially focused on school zones, high-density avenues, and strategic access points to the city. These new technologies will provide real-time information to drivers and pedestrians, such as speed limits, weather warnings, road incidents, and road awareness campaigns.

The City Council emphasizes that this initiative is part of a comprehensive urban modernization plan, aligned with sustainability and smart city goals. "Electronic signage allows us to adapt to traffic needs at all times and contribute to safer and more efficient mobility," stated the Councilor for Safety and Traffic.

The first devices have already begun to be installed in areas near schools and high schools, where a higher risk for pedestrians has been detected. In addition, a second phase is planned in which these systems will be integrated with municipal digital platforms to facilitate data collection and planning of future road safety measures.

The measure has been well received by residents, parents' associations, and schools, who praise the City Council's efforts to protect the most vulnerable and reduce the risk of accidents.
